(WASA) WEST AFRICAN SURFING ASSOCIATION
is a charity devoted to helping the young kids of Western Africa.
WASA: After spending time in West Africa surfing the uncrowded waves and having the pleasure of sharing waves with the local kids that surf. Brett Davies (Me) decided to try and organise surf equipment for them through donations from friends and surfing companies in Europe
We are always looking for help to enable us to give the kids chance to share the joys of surfing. Having great waves on their doorsteps, the kids of Western Africa should be able to enjoy the ocean and surfing at the same time. We are asking for donations of surfing equipment, mainly surfboards but are always in need of leashes, fins, and any other surfing equipment that we can get our hands on. New or old, whatever condition or size.
We are currently in our second drive to collect equipment. In 2010 under the name of (Surfboard Donations For The kids of West Africa) we successfully shipped our first container of boards and equipment into West Africa. We are as always very grateful for all your kind help and support. We plan to ship again around September 2013.Since our first injection of equipment into West Africa we have seen first hand the level of surfing rise and the local surfers are truly developing strong passion for surfing. So,hopefully, with your help we can put more of these talented kids on boards, to share the pleasures that we all have from our great sport.
